Ho Hodos means "The Way" in Greek. Jesus is The Way, the path to the Father, and we are following Him. The Ho Hodos Worship Arts booklets, Introduction to Worship Arts, are designed to take you, your children, family, or other small group, through a series of art projects in seven different categories to explore your own expressions of worship to the Lord.
This is not just for artists, but for anyone who loves Jesus. The biblically based art projects are not designed to teach art or skill, but to provide a unique opportunity to use art as an avenue to worship the Lord, while exploring one's own God-given strengths and gifts. We provide some structure, but you make it your own.
The process of creating art in various categories gives opportunity to identify personal gifts, as well as recognize, and appreciate, the strengths of others. During this process, you have opportunity to connect with the Lord in a practical way to discover or enhance the gifts He's placed within you. As an added bonus, your group might grow into a team which not only becomes supportive of one another, but develops an avenue through which you can reach out to your community.
Worship art groups are simply a group of people who meet together for art sessions. They may be people of all ages, and art preferences, who come together to grow, worship, and develop relationships in Christ. These groups may be based in various places including homes, neighborhoods or churches. They may also hold events or go on field trips. Christian parents, children or youth group leaders, homeschoolers, or any other small group leaders who are looking for a practical way to bring worship, fellowship, and discovery to their group may want to consider this practice.

The books are available for free in the Downloads section at the bottom of this page.
If you are an adult who will not be practicing with others in a group then you call all the shots! You are your own Mentor and decide the day and time of your sessions. If you want to include your children see the Kids & Adult section below.
There are pros and cons to practicing by yourself. Being able to set your own schedule is an advantage. Yet so is learning to work together in a group, developing relationships, and identifying & appreciating the gifts of others.
An adult group is simply a group of adults, (to include late teens and above) who meet regularly to create art with the shared goal of worshiping the Lord through a personal creative expression. Everyone over the age of 15 (approximately) uses the Adult book so no Kids or Mentor books are needed. However, the Guidebook would be very helpful.
Perfect for families! The art projects are coordinated so adults and kids can work together. The children's practice, in most cases, works best with ages 7-15. A child requires a Mentor--a parent or group leader--to guide him or her through the sessions and provide art materials.
A kids group still needs an adult Mentor. Each child will need their own book, one Mentor book for the group, and the Mentor may want to have an adult book of their own. The Kids books, in most cases, work best with ages 7-15.
There are three levels to the Ho Hodos Worship Arts practice--Follower, Disciple, and Servant. Then there are three types of books for each level--Adult, Kids, and Kid's Mentor. The books coordinate with each other so both adults and children may practice together. The children's book is for approximate ages 7-15 and requires a Mentor book and Mentor. The Guidebook is strongly recommended!
The Guidebook goes into great detail regarding what Ho Hodos Worship Arts is all about, and describes each category of art in detail. 59 pages. Chapter titles are:
Chapter One: What is Worship Art?
Chapter Two: Art & Occupation
Chapter Three: The Seven Categories
Chapter Four: The Worship Art Mentor
Chapter Five: Introduction to Worship Art
Chapter Six: Practice Types
Each person needs their own workbook which covers a minimum of eight sessions. All seven of our worship art categories are introduced, with an art project idea for each session. As an option to expand this level beyond eight sessions, there are four "free art" session ideas to give you an opportunity to explore the categories more freely. There are also "field trip" suggestions. 65 pages.

Kids (1 per child)
Kid's Mentor (1 for the Mentor of a child. Only one per group of children is needed).

The Disciple level also has eight sessions and is similar to the Follower level but with different art projects. Once again you create art in all seven of our worship art categories. Four new "free art" session themes and ideas are included, and the same "Go Play Outside" ideas, outside event, and yearly feast suggestions are here as were in the Follower level.

Kids (1 per child)
Kid's Mentor (1 for the Mentor of a child. Only one per group of children is needed).
The Servant level is the final level. The Servant level is slightly different from the other two in that there are twelve "free art" sessions with a Scripture theme and art ideas for all of the seven categories at each session, with each person choosing their own category and art project. At the Servant level is where you may attain the Servant Knight designation, which is the expression of being a true Knight

Consider using the creative ability God has placed within you to touch the lives of others. There are those--both kids and adults--who need a creative leader, (like you), to invest in their life, giving opportunity to release their potential--the seed gifts--God has put within them. (With the added benefit of cultivating your gifts at the same time). You don't need to be an experienced artist to start a Worship Art group. A "group" may be anywhere from one or more people.
all kids
all adults
a mixture of both
a family
a home-school group
a church group
a neighborhood group
a nursing home group
a group for those in transition in life
or any combination!
